You can still see the boom and anchors on display in Burrell Boom Park in the village center.

Burrell Boom is only a few miles from the Community Baboon Sanctuary, home to wildlife you can visit up close! The village's attraction is the exquisite natural setting, ideal for canoeing, birding and croc-spotting. Locals take advantage of the lush fruit trees and distill a huge variety of fruit wines, especially sweet berry and cashew wines.

This sleepy village comes to life every year in March when the annual canoe race known as La Ruta Maya passes through. Contestants spend their third night on the banks of the river in town, making Burrell Boom an ideal location for observers to hunker down with a cold drink and watch the fun. The riverbanks will be your favorite part of the village, next to the serenity of small town hospitality.

The village's proximity to the international airport and the Philip Goldson Hwy make it a convenient and comfortable base from which to explore the rest of the country.
